Quick Overview
Job Description
Human Resources Manager (Multi-Entity / Shared Services)
We are seeking a highly educated, rigorous, and versatile Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function across four distinct corporate entities operating within the construction and facility management industries. This position is fully on-site in our office located in Downtown Cincinnati.
The ideal candidate will seamlessly navigate the unique compliance, safety, and workforce demands inherent to construction and property management operations (including field labor, trade compliance, and shift-based personnel) while maintaining centralized, legally sound HR processes. This role requires an individual who thrives on dual execution—delivering high-level compliance and workforce tracking while managing day-to-day HR administration completely independently.
HR Administration
Function as the sole point of contact for all HR inquiries, administrative workflows, and strategic initiatives across all four business units.
Partner directly with the Shared Services Controller to ensure HR initiatives, labor cost tracking, and payroll data align perfectly with overarching corporate financial tracking.
Multi-Company
Efficiently manage time and balance priorities across the four entities, recognizing that while they share an industry, they maintain distinct operational footprints, leadership dynamics, and staff requirements.
Construction & Facility Management Compliance
Safety & OSHA Synergy:
Collaborate with safety officers and project managers to ensure perfect record-keeping for OSHA compliance, worker’s compensation tracking, incident reporting, and mandatory safety training certifications.
Labor Standards & Davis-Bacon
Maintain deep knowledge of prevailing wages, certified payroll compliance support, and the specific classification differences between field-based laborers, technicians, and corporate staff.
Multi-Company Auditing
Conduct regular internal audits of personnel files, I-9 verification, and driver/equipment operator licensing requirements across all four entities to mitigate corporate liability.
Hands-On Talent Acquisition & Workforce Management
Full-Cycle Solo Recruiting:
Support and maintain the recruitment pipeline—from drafting industry-specific job ads and screening field technicians/project managers to negotiating offers for all four entities, as needed.
Build and execute streamlined, legally compliant onboarding experiences that get field and office personnel properly trained, credentialed, and deployed to job sites without administrative bottlenecks.
Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution
Field-to-Office Mediation:
Serve as an objective, trusted advisor for employee relations issues, resolving grievances equitably among personnel.
Policy & Handbook Design
Standardize and maintain distinct employee handbooks for each entity, ensuring they address industry-specific realities like inclement weather policies, travel pay, vehicle usage, and equipment allowances. Payroll, Benefits & Compensation
Payroll Management:
Own payroll processing for all four entities, working with our third party provider, Paycor. Serve as the data gatekeeper to ensure accurate payroll reporting to Paycor, maintain employee status changes, and confirm time-tracking systems feed seamlessly into the finance department.
Coordinate annual open enrollment, manage vendor relationships for health and welfare plans, and handle the day-to-day administration of employee benefits and leave management (FMLA/Short-Term Disability). Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
Experience
5+ years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 2 years operating within the Construction or Facility Management sectors is heavily preferred.
Demonstrated familiarity with OSHA guidelines, worker’s compensation management, prevailing wage frameworks, and labor dynamics typical of commercial contracting or property maintenance.
Advanced capabilities with HRIS tools, automated time-tracking systems and Applicant Tracking Systems. Strong proficiency in Excel for creating data-driven reports for the Controller.
Work Style
Exceptional organizational stamina and time management. Must be comfortable handling high-volume administrative tasks (paperwork, data entry) one minute, and counseling company leaders the next.
