IT Support Network Connectivity Multi-Site Retail Technical Troubleshooting

MET Professional is recruiting for an experienced IT Support & Network Engineer to join a growing and established retail business based in Kingswinford.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on IT professional who enjoys variety, problem-solving and taking ownership of technical issues.

Predominantly based at Head Office, you will provide IT and connectivity support across a nationwide network of retail stores, ensuring systems remain operational and technical issues are resolved efficiently.

The position combines day-to-day IT support with network connectivity, broadband troubleshooting and involvement in new store openings. There will also be a requirement to travel to retail locations throughout the UK when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT support to Head Office and retail stores, both remotely and on-site.

• Diagnose and resolve day-to-day hardware, software and connectivity issues.

• Coordinate broadband installations and connectivity requirements for new and existing stores.

• Liaise with telecommunications providers, to resolve faults and arrange installations.

• Support new store openings, including the installation, configuration and testing of IT and networking equipment.

• Ensure broadband connections, tills, card payment systems, telephones and other essential technology are operational before stores open.

• Attend existing stores to undertake equipment upgrades, replacements and more complex troubleshooting.

• Maintain accurate records and inventories of IT and networking equipment.

• Help develop standardised IT configurations and troubleshooting procedures to improve efficiency and consistency across the business.

About You

We are looking for a practical, proactive IT professional who is comfortable working independently and enjoys finding solutions to technical challenges.

You will ideally have:

• A minimum of three years' practical experience in IT support, network support or IT field engineering.

• Good working knowledge of IT hardware, networking equipment and broadband connectivity.

• Experience diagnosing and resolving technical issues remotely and on-site.

• The ability to coordinate with external telecommunications and IT service providers.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple technical issues and priorities.

• A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving abilities.

• Good communication skills and the confidence to support colleagues across different locations.

• A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to stores throughout the UK when required.

Experience supporting multiple sites, retail environments or EPOS systems would be particularly advantageous.
