Technical Curriculum Designer - Cybersecurity

We are looking for a Cybersecurity Curriculum Designer to develop practical, career-focused learning content that prepares students for the CompTIA Security+ certification.
This is a hands-on curriculum development opportunity for a cybersecurity professional who understands real-world security analysis and risk assessment and can translate that experience into clear, engaging instructional content. The project is expected to run approximately 3-6 months and is well suited for someone who enjoys project-based contract work.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop cybersecurity curriculum aligned with CompTIA Security+ and CySA+ certification objectives
• Translate real-world cybersecurity analysis, threat detection, vulnerability management and risk assessment concepts into effective learning materials
• Develop instructional content, exercises, assessments, scenarios, labs or other learning activities
• Research current cybersecurity practices, tools and technologies to keep course content relevant
• Use AI tools to accelerate research, content development, curriculum organization and instructional design
• Review and refine AI-generated content for technical accuracy, instructional quality and relevance
• Work with cybersecurity subject matter experts and learning professionals as needed
• Help structure content for delivery through a Learning Management System or other digital learning platforms

What We're Looking For

• 2-3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience, ideally in cybersecurity analysis, security operations, vulnerability management, cyber risk or security assessment
• Cybersecurity certification such as CompTIA CySA+, Security+, CISSP, CEH or a related credential
• Experience creating cybersecurity training, curriculum, instructional materials, technical training or other educational content
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts covered by the CompTIA Security+ certification
• Experience using contemporary AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini or similar platforms to support cybersecurity analysis or content development
• Ability to use AI effectively to accelerate curriculum development while maintaining technical accuracy and quality
• Strong written communication and ability to explain technical cybersecurity concepts to learners clearly

Nice to Have

• Experience developing content for CompTIA certifications or other cybersecurity certification programs
• Learning Management System experience
• Experience designing hands-on cybersecurity labs, exercises or assessments
• Instructional design, curriculum development or learning experience design background
• Experience working as a Product Manager, Program Manager or Lead for cybersecurity curriculum or learning products
• Experience with cybersecurity education, workforce development, boot camps or professional certification training

Contract Details

• 3-6 month project
• Approximately $58-$63/hr
