Senior Associate or Counsel, Trust & Estate Litigation

About the Role

A well-established Bay Area law firm is seeking a senior attorney to help lead its growing Trust & Estate Litigation Group. You will guide complex matters, develop client relationships, mentor associates, and help shape the practice's next chapter.

What You'll Do

• Lead complex trust, probate, and fiduciary litigation matters from inception through resolution.

• Develop case strategy for will and trust contests, fiduciary duty claims, accounting disputes, surcharge actions, and elder abuse matters.

• Advise clients and serve as a trusted point of contact throughout litigation.

• Represent trustees, executors, administrators, beneficiaries, older adults, and their families in disputes.

• Supervise, delegate work to, and mentor associate attorneys.

• Contribute to business development and help shape the group's direction and culture.

What We're Looking For

• At least 8 years of dedicated trust and estate litigation experience in California, with active litigation practice.

• Strong experience handling complex trust, probate, fiduciary duty, will contest, accounting, surcharge, or financial elder abuse matters.

• Active California State Bar membership in good standing and a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

• Demonstrated ability to drive case strategy, supervise or mentor associates, and help build a practice group.

• Established connections in the Bay Area trust and estate litigation community are valued; a book of business is not required.

• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is $225,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Hybrid, based in San Mateo, California, with options to work from Pleasanton or San Jose.
