Position Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Cellular DAS Design Engineer to lead the design, planning, optimization, and deployment of indoor cellular coverage solutions for enterprise, healthcare, retail, hospitality, manufacturing, and campus environments.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) utilizing JMA Wireless and/or Ericsson Radio Dot platforms, with a strong understanding of LTE, 5G, CBRS, neutral-host, and carrier-integrated wireless networks.

While the primary focus of this role is cellular DAS and in-building wireless design, candidates with enterprise Wi-Fi design experience, including Ekahau-based design and surveys, are welcome and highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer cellular DAS solutions that provide reliable indoor LTE and 5G coverage.
• Develop RF propagation models, coverage predictions, capacity analyses, and design documentation.
• Perform site surveys and wireless assessments for new and existing facilities.
• Create complete DAS design packages, including head-end architecture, fiber distribution layouts, remote-unit placement, antenna designs, bills of materials, and construction drawings.
• Design and optimize JMA Wireless DAS and Ericsson Radio Dot systems.
• Coordinate carrier onboarding and integration activities with Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and other operators.
• Support commissioning, troubleshooting, acceptance testing, and post-deployment optimization.
• Collaborate with project managers, installation teams, carriers, and customer stakeholders throughout project delivery.
• Review RF performance data and recommend network improvements.
• Support private LTE, private 5G, and CBRS deployments as required.

Required Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in cellular RF engineering and DAS design.
• Experience designing or supporting JMA Wireless DAS environments.
• Experience with Ericsson Radio Dot systems.
• Strong knowledge of LTE, 5G NR, carrier networks, CBRS, RF propagation, and MIMO technologies.
• Experience conducting cellular site surveys and RF assessments.
• Ability to produce professional design documentation and construction packages.
• Experience with fiber-optic and coaxial distribution systems.
• Working knowledge of spectrum analyzers, signal analyzers, and DAS commissioning tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• iBwave Design and RF modeling experience.
• DAS commissioning and optimization experience.
• Experience with public safety DAS systems, neutral-host networks, and private LTE/5G.
• Experience with Corning, CommScope, SOLiD, or similar DAS platforms.
• Experience supporting healthcare, stadium, campus, airport, or large enterprise wireless deployments.

Wi-Fi Design Experience Welcome

This role is centered on cellular DAS engineering. Candidates who can also support enterprise Wi-Fi design will receive additional consideration. Relevant experience may include:

• Ekahau AI Pro and Ekahau Sidekick.
• Predictive wireless design and active or passive Wi-Fi surveys.
• Wireless LAN optimization and troubleshooting.
• High-density enterprise Wi-Fi environments.

Preferred Certifications and Tools

• iBwave Level 2 or Level 3; JMA Wireless technical training or certification; Ericsson Radio Dot training.
• Ekahau ECSE Design, CWNA, or CWDP for candidates with Wi-Fi capabilities.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Visio, Anritsu Site Master or Spectrum Master, VIAVI CellAdvisor, Keysight FieldFox, and fiber/OTDR platforms.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on wireless engineer whose primary strength is cellular DAS design and RF engineering, particularly with JMA Wireless and Ericsson Radio Dot solutions. Experience supporting carrier-integrated LTE and 5G deployments is essential. Candidates who also bring Ekahau-based Wi-Fi design and survey expertise will stand out, as many customer environments require coordination between cellular and Wi-Fi networks to deliver a comprehensive in-building wireless solution.
