About the Role

Mid-level Database Administrator responsible for the administration, availability, security, performance, and recoverability of enterprise database platforms, including Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, Snowflake and DB2. In this role, you will install, configure, monitor, and maintain database environments; manage database security, user access, backups, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions; troubleshoot performance issues; implement database maintenance and automation; and support database upgrades, patching, and migrations. You will partner closely with application development, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and data teams to ensure the reliability, integrity, and compliance of mission-critical databases within a highly regulated financial services environment while continuously improving operational efficiency and platform stability.

• 7 years of experience as a Database Administrator in an enterprise environment.
• Experience administering relational and/or NoSQL database platforms.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Monitor, and Azure Backup.
• Experience with database backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of database performance monitoring and tuning.
• Experience managing database security, user access, and permissions.
• Experience with database upgrades, patching, and migrations.
• Experience with automation using PowerShell, T-SQL, or other scripting languages.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working in Microsoft Azure cloud environments beyond database services.
• Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical production systems.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience using enterprise database monitoring and performance management tools.
• Background in regulated industries (financial services, insurance)
