Job Description

Role Name: Network Test Automation Engineer - Ethernet Systems DV #309
Location: Foster City, CA || 5 days onsite 
Contract
Department: Advanced Hardware Engineering | Business Unit: Sensor Engineering
 
Full Time Build and maintain automation frameworks that validate Ethernet-connected sensor networks for the autonomous vehicle platform
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build and maintain Python-based test automation frameworks for Ethernet compliance, integration, and performance validation.
  • Develop PCAP/tcpdump tooling and fault-injection scripts for ARP, ICMP, FCS, link-loss, and recovery testing.
  • Configure and manage VLAN (802.1Q) topologies across bench and HIL environments.
  • Validate interoperability between network switches and sensors and ensure compliance requirements are met.
  • Own technical documentation for frameworks, methodologies, and system configurations
 REQUIRED
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 6+ years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of OSI model, TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, ARP, SNMP, and VLAN configuration.
  • Advanced Python and Bash scripting with test automation framework experience such as Pytest.
  • Proficiency with Wireshark, iPerf, tcpdump, traceroute, and ethtool.
  • Strong CI/CD and DevOps experience with the ability to debug across the OSI stack
BONUS
  • DoIP and UDS over IP experience.
  • Automotive Ethernet standards including 100BASE-T1, BroadR-Reach, and H-MTD/FAKRA.
  • IEEE 1588v2/PTP and 802.1AS time synchronization experience.
  • Advanced Linux networking and HIL infrastructure experience including DAQ and relay-controlled power system
