We are seeking an experienced Full-Stack Developer to join a multidisciplinary NHS product delivery team, helping transform validated Care Plan journeys into a production-ready NHS App experience, supported by interoperable platform and API services.

The role has a strong focus on quality, testing, security, information governance, operational readiness and integration with the wider NHS ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop full-stack applications with a strong focus on TypeScript and Node.js.
• Build modern Front End applications using React, Angular or similar frameworks.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs, microservices and integrations.
• Take solutions from initial design through to deployment within an Agile environment.
• Contribute to technical design decisions and maintain high engineering standards.
• Implement automated testing and CI/CD practices to improve quality and delivery.
• Write clean, secure, scalable and maintainable code.
• Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing and mentoring.
• Work closely with engineers, product teams and wider NHS stakeholders.

Essential Experience

• Strong commercial experience developing TypeScript and Node.js Back End services.
• Proven full-stack development experience.
• Experience with React, Angular or a similar modern Front End framework.
• Strong experience developing REST APIs, services or microservices.
• Good understanding of SOLID principles and software engineering best practice.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD.
• Strong experience with Git and Agile development methodologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Desirable Experience

• Previous NHS or healthcare technology experience.
• Experience working with NHS APIs.
• Knowledge of healthcare API standards, particularly FHIR.
• Previous experience delivering solutions for NHS programmes or within the wider NHS ecosystem.
