Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Project Manager to lead a large-scale enterprise storage migration program. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex infrastructure or storage migration projects, coordinating multiple technical teams, managing migration events, and driving projects from discovery and planning through production execution.

The project involves a large enterprise storage environment with multiple sites, hosts, storage arrays, and petabytes of data. Strong project planning, coordination, reporting, risk management, and migration execution experience are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage large, complex enterprise storage and infrastructure migration projects.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
• Coordinate discovery, planning, migration, cutover, and post-migration activities.
• Manage multiple migration events and coordinate activities across technical teams.
• Track project risks, actions, issues, decisions, and dependencies.
• Provide burn-down reporting, status reporting, and executive-level project updates.
• Coordinate pre- and post-migration activities and performance analysis.
• Track and report migration progress, capacity, timelines, and deliverables.
• Identify and resolve project blockers and dependencies.
• Coordinate production migration planning and execution.
• Work closely with storage, infrastructure, server, automation, and customer teams.
• Ensure migration activities are properly planned, documented, tracked, and completed.
• Support a multi-phase migration program with potentially long-term follow-on work.

Project Scope

• Migration of approximately 3.3 PB (3,292 TB) of allocated storage.
• Approximately 1.6 PB of consumed data.
• 14 enterprise storage arrays across 6 sites.
• Approximately 477 hosts.
• Migration to PowerMax target arrays, with additional arrays available for capacity planning.
• Up to approximately 18 migration events.
• Up to approximately 300 TB of data migration per month.
• Pre- and post-migration performance analysis.
• Pre- and post-migration task tracking, coordination, and reporting.
• Migration event planning and management.
• Array health checks before and after migration.
• Production SRDF replication may need to be recreated for a portion of in-scope hosts.

Required Skills

• Extensive experience managing large, complex infrastructure or storage migration projects.
• Strong enterprise project management experience.
• Experience managing large-scale data center or storage migration programs.
• Excellent project planning and scheduling skills.
• Experience with RAID/risk/action/issue/decision tracking and reporting.
• Strong experience coordinating multiple technical teams and workstreams.
• Experience managing migration events, cutovers, dependencies, and production activities.
• Strong communication, organization, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Project Assumptions / Scope

• Migration tools include Open Replicator and SRDF.
• SAN fabric migration is outside the project scope.
• Host/server administration activities are handled by the customer.
• Customer is responsible for migration scheduling and change management.
• Zoning and masking activities are handled through the customer's existing processes and automation.
• Services will be delivered through a coordinated technical team.
• The role is 100% remote.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a Senior Technical Project Manager / Infrastructure Project Manager / Storage Migration Project Manager with a proven track record managing large enterprise migration programs and coordinating complex technical teams from discovery through production migration.
