Job description

We are seeking an experienced Active Directory Engineer to join a project team, focusing on the administration, maintenance and improvement of enterprise Active Directory and hybrid identity services. Wokring knowledge and understanding of Okta is key.
9 month initial contract
Outside IR35
Immediate start, London/Manchester (1-2 days per week)
Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft Active Directory (AD DS) and hybrid environments with Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Manage AD objects, OUs, security groups, access provisioning and permissions.
  • Develop PowerShell scripts to automate administration, reporting and Joiner/Mover/Leaver processes.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Group Policy (GPO), DNS, DHCP, Kerberos and domain trusts.
  • Resolve complex authentication, authorisation and directory-related issues.
  • Support domain controller health, patching, backups and directory replication.
  • Maintain SSO integrations across Okta, Entra ID, Google Workspace and Oracle Fusion.
  • Support identity security improvements, including privileged access controls and CyberArk PAM integration.

Key Skills & Experience
  • Strong hands-on Microsoft Active Directory administration and architecture experience.
  • Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Strong GPO, DNS, DHCP, LDAP/LDAPS and Kerberos knowledge.
  • Microsoft Entra ID and hybrid identity synchronisation.
  • Experience with SSO and identity federation; Okta exposure beneficial.
  • Understanding of CyberArk/Privileged Access Management (PAM).
  • Knowledge of AD security best practices, including least privilege and tiered administration.
  • Experience working within ITIL service management frameworks.
