Software Developer – Integration API —Insurance & Annuity Domain
PRACTICE AREA:Life & Annuity
Location: Remote
REPORTING STRUCTURE
Reports to: Tech Engineer Lead / Engagement Lead
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and maintain the centralized API/orchestration layer connecting PAS, CRM, data, and digital systems.
- Design and implement REST services and message/event-driven integration patterns (queues, pub/sub, webhooks, or similar).
- Develop and configure Azure integration services (e.g., Azure Service Bus, API Management, Logic Apps, Functions, or equivalent).
- Translate integration designs and interface specifications into production-quality code.
- Partner with architects, business analysts, and QA to validate that build and configuration align with integration design intent.
- Implement and maintain API contracts, message schemas, and event definitions across the orchestration layer.
- Troubleshoot and resolve defects across the API/orchestration layer, working with platform and vendor teams as needed.
- Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, and reusable integration components.
- Support performance tuning and monitoring of integration services in test and production environments.
- Build working knowledge of annuity/L&A product and transaction concepts as they relate to integration touchpoints.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of software development experience, with strong specialization in API and integration development.
- Hands-on experience building REST services and message/event-driven integration patterns (queues, pub/sub, webhooks, or similar).
- Experience with Azure integration services (e.g., Azure Service Bus, API Management, Logic Apps, Functions, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience integrating systems across PAS, CRM, data, and digital/front-end platforms.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals — testing, code quality, and API design best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to work directly with architects and cross-functional technical teams.
- Consulting or client-facing delivery experience a plus.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Annuity or Life & Annuity domain exposure valued.
- Experience with policy administration systems (e.g., FAST) or insurance CRM platforms.
- Prior experience with de novo carrier builds or large-scale legacy system migrations.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
