Cisco R/S Engineers

As a Cisco R/S Engineer, you will be responsible for handling complex design, providing leadership, and demonstrating strong triage skills. You should have a deep understanding of route switch, building MOPs, and configuring Cisco devices.

Responsibilities:

• Configure Cisco devices using IOS xe and Nexus OS
• Translate configurations from old O/S versions to new devices
• Work night shifts starting between 10-11pm CST and ending around 6am
• Provide leadership to a team of engineers during maintenance window cuts
• Triage applied config failures, hardware failures, and troubleshooting common failure scenarios
• Demonstrate expertise in routing protocols, service provider tech, spanning-tree, and MPLS
• Handle tasks related to BGP, HSRP, OSPF, VLAN trunking, spanning tree, and access lists
• Have knowledge of Layer 1 technologies such as multi-mode/single mode, cat 5/6, SFP/QSFP

Requirements:

Required skills:

• Strong understanding of Cisco devices and switches
• Experience with HSRP, Nexus, BGP, and Routing Protocols
• Proficiency in IOS development and OSPF
• Knowledge of VLAN configuration and troubleshooting

Preferred skills:

• Experience in spanning tree, MPLS, and access control lists
• Familiarity with different types of SFP/QSFP connectors
