Senior QA Engineer Broadband CPE @ Denver, CO (On-site)

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer with strong expertise in Wi-Fi, RDK-B, and Cable Modem (CPE) domains, with a key focus on automation development. The role involves end-to-end validation of broadband gateway devices while driving scalable test automation solutions to improve quality, coverage, and release efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based automation frameworks and test scripts for Broadband CPE devices on the RDK-B platform (with USP PA).
• Drive end-to-end automation for Wi-Fi validation and Cable Modem, improving test coverage and execution efficiency.
• Automate functional, regression, performance, and stability testing across Wi-Fi, RDK-B, and Cable Modem domains.
• Develop scalable automation solutions for networking features including DHCP, DNS, NAT, IPv4/IPv6, routing, and Wi-Fi management.
• Build automation for provisioning workflows, firmware upgrade validation, and feature rollout testing.
• Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster release cycles.
• Enhance and extend frameworks (e.g., Boardfarm or similar) to support new device capabilities and test scenarios.
• Perform debugging and root cause analysis using tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, logs, and CLI, while improving automation reliability.
• Collaborate with development, platform, and DevOps teams to identify automation gaps and implement scalable solutions.
• Contribute to automation architecture, test strategy, and best practices for next-generation Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi 6/7/8) validation.
• Participate in defect triaging, release validation cycles, and continuous quality improvements.

Required Skills All Mandatory

• Strong experience in Cable Modem / Broadband CPE QA domain.
• Hands-on expertise in RDK-B platform (with USP) automation & validation.
• Experience in provisioning and firmware validation workflows.
• Strong knowledge of Wi-Fi technologies (Wi-Fi 6/7/8).
• Proficiency in Python automation (Pytest or equivalent frameworks).
• Strong understanding of networking protocols TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, IPv4/IPv6.
• Experience with Linux environment and debugging tools.
• Solid experience in test lifecycle management and automation development strategy.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Boardfarm automation framework.
• Experience with traffic generation tools (Ixia, Spirent, iperf).
• Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices.

Education

Bachelor s / Master s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.
