Job Description

Project Controls Specialist

We are seeking a Project Controls Analyst to support large-scale industrial and capital projects through cost analysis, forecasting, scheduling support, and process improvement initiatives. This role will work closely with project managers, finance teams, and field personnel to provide accurate project reporting and help drive overall project performance.

The ideal candidate will have experience in project controls functions including cost tracking, forecasting, and scheduling, along with strong analytical skills and the ability to improve and streamline project controls processes and reporting.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support project controls, contract & construction administration, cost management, and project support services for capital projects.
  • Maintain and analyze project budgets, commitments, actual costs, and forecasts
  • Assist project teams with monthly forecasting and variance analysis
  • Develop and maintain project controls reports, dashboards, and metrics
  • Support invoice and accrual management, procurement, document control, and contractor compliance.
  • Develops and maintains project logs and reporting, risk management processes, schedule and productivity tracking, and financial controls to support informed decision-making and successful project execution.
  • Identify project risks, cost impacts, and schedule concerns, and communicate findings to leadership
  • Collaborates with project teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure adherence to safety, quality, project accounting, and regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement through effective communication, lessons learned, and shared best practices.
  • Help enhance and improve existing project controls processes, tools, and reporting methodologies
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across project controls systems and reports

 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in project controls, cost analysis, project accounting, or related project support functions
  • Experience with cost tracking, forecasting, and project reporting required
  • Working knowledge of Primavera P6 scheduling software preferred
  • Experience with Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP/project management systems strongly preferred
  • Strong Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting capabilities
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
  • Experience supporting industrial, construction, manufacturing, or capital projects is a plus
