Job Description

LightStone Law is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 1-5 years of experience to join our Business Practice Group. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career attorney to develop sophisticated transactional skills while working directly with experienced attorneys and a diverse client base.
The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional client service. This attorney will have meaningful client interaction, increasing responsibility, and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Responsibilities*
  • Draft, review and negotiate a variety of business and commercial agreements
  • Assist clients with business formation, governance, restructuring and dissolution matters
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, asset purchases, and other business transactions
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda on corporate, commercial, and regulatory issues
  • Assist with entity maintenance, corporate governance, and compliance matters
  • Participate in due diligence for business transactions
  • Advise clients on day-to-day legal issues affecting closely held businesses and entrepreneurs
  • Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, accountants, lenders, and other professionals
  • Contribute to business development initiatives and maintain strong client relationships
  • Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups to provide comprehensive legal solutions
  • Qualifications*
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Michigan Bar
  • 1-5 years of experience in business, corporate, commercial, or transactional law
  • Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate initiative, sound judgement, and a collaborative mindset
  • Preferred Qualifications*
  • Experience drafting and negotiating contracts
  • Exposure to corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, commercial finance, or real estate transactions
  • Experience working with closely held businesses, entrepreneurs, or family-owned companies
  • Interest in developing client relationships and contributing to firm growth
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.
