Job Title: Network Infrastructure Security Professional

Location: Vermont — hybrid; on-site work at Vermont DOC facilities required; remote work only within U.S. territory
Duration: Late Fall 2026 through Early Spring 2027
Experience: 4–8 Years

Job Summary

We are seeking a Network Infrastructure Security Professional to assess and strengthen network infrastructure and security compliance across multiple correctional facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with secure network environments, wireless security, network segmentation, compliance assessments, and cybersecurity frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess network infrastructure, topology, and physical security across multiple facilities.
  • Conduct compliance and security gap assessments against CJIS, NIST, HIPAA, and State security standards.
  • Evaluate secure wireless connectivity and risks associated with wireless networks in high-security environments.
  • Design and recommend network segmentation strategies, including VLAN and firewall architectures.
  • Evaluate and recommend authentication, encryption, access controls, and other security measures.
  • Identify security risks and develop remediation recommendations.
  • Perform security assessments, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Document findings, risk ratings, and security recommendations.
  • Communicate technical risks and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Travel onsite to correctional facilities for assessment activities.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 4–8 years of experience in Network Security, Network Engineering, or Infrastructure Security.
  • Experience working in regulated or high-security environments.
  • Strong knowledge of CJIS Security Policy, NIST standards, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with Wi-Fi security, WPA2/WPA3-Enterprise, 802.1X, and NAC.
  • Experience with network segmentation, VLANs, firewalls, authentication, and encryption.
  • Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 and FIPS 200.
  • Experience conducting security assessments, audits, or compliance reviews.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience supporting correctional facilities, public safety, government, military, or healthcare environments.
  • Experience with multi-vendor infrastructure environments.
  • Experience conducting security assessments across multiple facilities.
