Job Description

Heavy Forklift Engineer<br />Location: Kent<br />Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm (40hrs)<br />Basic Salary: £35,000–£45,000, dependent on experience and assessment<br />OTE: £43,531–£55,969 with 5 hours' overtime per week<br />OTE: £52,063–£67,000 with 10 hours' overtime per week<br />Overtime:

Paid at 1.5x<br />Company Van:

Fully equipped company van<br />Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays, increasing with service We are looking for an experienced Heavy Forklift Engineer to join our team and cover customer sites across Kent.<br />This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Forklift Engineer with experience working on heavy equipment, particularly 16-tonne+ forklifts.<br />You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a broad range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment, helping to keep customers' equipment safe, compliant and operational.

Your Responsibilities<br />Perform servicing, maintenance and repair work on a broad range of forklift trucks and material handling equipment.<br />Work on 16-tonne+ heavy forklifts.<br />Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues.<br />Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs.<br />Carry out LOLER inspections to ensure equipment remains fully compliant.<br />Complete safety checks and pre-delivery inspections.<br />Respond to breakdowns and carry out reactive maintenance to minimise customer downtime.<br />Effectively organise and manage your workload and service schedule.<br />Accurately complete service reports, job sheets and relevant documentation.<br />Communicate with the parts department to ensure the correct components are sourced and installed.<br />Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach when working on customer sites.<br />Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.What You'll Need<br />Minimum 12 months' experience as a Forklift Engineer, Material Handling Mechanic, Plant Fitter or similar.<br />Essential: proven experience working on 16-tonne+ forklifts.<br />Proven experience with diesel engines.<br />Strong experience with electrics, hydraulics and diagnostics.<br />Good mechanical knowledge and fault-finding ability.<br />Ability to work independently and effectively manage your workload.<br />A professional, reliable and customer-focused attitude.<br />Technical qualification such as City &amp; Guilds or NVQ is desirable.<br />Full UK driving licence.<br />Must live in Kent or within a reasonable travelling distance.What We Offer<br />Basic Salary: £35,000–£45,000, dependent on experience and assessment<br />OTE: £43,531–£55,969 with 5 hours' overtime per week<br />OTE: £52,063–£67,000 with 10 hours' overtime per week.<br />As part of the hiring process, you will be required to complete a 30-minute multiple-choice technical assessment prior to interview which will determine your salary bracket
