Job Title: Senior Azure Cloud Administrator
Location: New York, NY, Only Local
Experience: 12+ years in IT infrastructure, with significant hands-on Azure administration experience

Role Overview

Manage and administer Azure cloud infrastructure, including subscriptions, resource groups, and cloud services, with a strong focus on security, networking, and automation.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure & Operations

• Provision, configure, and maintain Azure Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, Virtual Networks, and Load Balancers.
• Monitor Azure resources and troubleshoot performance, availability, and security issues.
• Configure and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
• Perform capacity planning, cost optimization, and resource utilization analysis.
• Support cloud migration and infrastructure modernization initiatives.

Networking & Application Delivery

• Configure and maintain private networking (Private Endpoints, VNet integration, peering).
• Manage Azure Front Door and Application Gateway, including WAF policies, routing rules, and access log analysis.
• Manage Azure App Services, including deployment slots, health checks, custom domains, and auto-scaling.

Security, Identity & Certificates

• Implement and manage identity and access using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and RBAC.
• Manage secrets and certificates in Azure Key Vault, including access policies and automated certificate rotation.
• Handle SSL/TLS certificate renewal and binding, and troubleshoot handshake and certificate-chain issues across Front Door, Application Gateway, and App Service.
• Ensure cloud environments comply with organizational security and governance standards.

Automation & Collaboration

• Automate operational tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM Templates, or Terraform.
• Work closely with application, network, security, and DevOps teams.

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Microsoft Azure administration.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Azure Virtual Machines
• Azure Storage
• Azure Virtual Network (VNet)
• Azure Load Balancer
• Azure App Services
• Azure Monitor
• Azure Backup & Site Recovery
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and RBAC.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / ARM Templates).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Cloud (Azure Security Center) and cloud security best practices.
• Experience managing Windows and Linux servers in Azure.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500), which fits the Key Vault, RBAC, and Defender work
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700), which fits the Front Door, App Gateway, and private networking work
• Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert (AZ-400)
• HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
