Job Title:  Power BI Modeler/Report Developer

Description
RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a qualified Power BI Developer for a 6-month project engagement based in Torrance, California, to support several business intelligence, analytics, and AI initiatives. We are looking for a resource with a strong combination of Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Copilot experience who can work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to design, develop, optimize, and support enterprise-scale reporting and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate should be capable of translating business requirements into scalable data solutions while leveraging modern Microsoft analytics and AI capabilities.

WANTS
Required Skills & Experience

Power BI

• 3+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience
• Strong expertise in:

• Power BI Desktop
• Power BI Service
• Data Modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema)
• DAX development and optimization
• Power Query (M Language)
• Report and Dashboard design
• Row-Level Security (RLS)
• Performance tuning and report optimization
• Deployment Pipelines
• Experience with large-scale enterprise BI environments

Microsoft Fabric

• Experience working with Microsoft Fabric, including:
• Understand Fabric capacity management concepts

Copilot & AI

• Experience using Microsoft Copilot within Power BI and Fabric
• Ability to leverage AI-assisted development capabilities to accelerate report creation, DAX generation, data exploration, and analytics solutions
• Understanding of responsible AI governance and security considerations

Data & Technical Skills

• Strong SQL development skills
• Experience with Azure-based data solutions is preferred
• Familiarity with cloud architecture and data integration patterns
• Experience connecting Power BI/Fabric to operational and cloud-based data sources
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices

Soft Skills

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Self-driven and capable of working independently within a fast-paced environment
• Experience working in large enterprise organizations

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Power BI certification(s)
• Microsoft Fabric certification(s)
• Experience with Agile project methodologies
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale reporting, analytics, and self-service BI programs
