Job Title - Community Apps/Experience Builder
Location - Remote
Duration - 6+ Months
Overview: Looking for a contractor to help developers build, launch, and improve apps on its Developer Platform (Devvit). This role is an equal blend of app review and developer community support. You will evaluate submitted apps for technical readiness, quality and policy compliance, then work directly with developers to resolve issues and successfully publish their work.
What you will do?
- Review Devvit app submissions against documented technical, product, policy, and quality requirements.
- Test apps, reproduce issues, document findings, and provide clear, actionable guidance through review and resubmission.
- Provide timely and empathic support across Devvit support queues
- Escalate ambiguous or high-risk cases to Product, Engineering, Community, or Safety partners and communicate decisions clearly to developers.
- Build deep expertise in Devvit and help developers navigate platform capabilities, limitations, best practices, and launch requirements.
- Cultivate trusted relationships with game, mod-tool, and other app developers, creating a constructive environment for learning and collaboration.
- Consolidate developer feedback and support data, help identify documentation or process gaps, and advocate for developer needs in internal prioritization.
Who you might be:
- You have 2 to 3 years of experience in web development, technical support, app review, QA, developer relations, customer success, community operations, or a related role.
- You have working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus comfort testing web applications and troubleshooting technical issues.
- You have experience managing public communities, written support queues, or community modmail, ideally on Reddit, Discord, or another developer-focused platform
- You communicate technical and policy requirements clearly, succinctly, and empathetically, including when handling criticism or delivering difficult decisions.
- You exercise sound judgment, pay close attention to detail, and make consistent decisions while working through ambiguity.
- You bring strong operational and project-management skills, including queue prioritization, documentation, process improvement, and reliable follow-through.
- You have an analytical mindset and can turn feedback and support data into useful recommendations.
- You are self-directed and execution-oriented, with a track record of independently improving systems and collaborating across functions.
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience with Devvit, Reddit moderation, or building apps for online communities.
- Experience in game development, mod-tool development, developer advocacy, or developer education.
- Familiarity with app marketplaces, submission review, trust and safety, content policy, or release-readiness processes.
- Experience creating technical documentation, guides, tutorials, events, or other educational programming.
- A genuine interest in Reddit and helping developers create useful, engaging community experiences.

- Be a public face with our global developer community to build trust and drive success, providing feedback and helping drive solutions.
- Cultivate, recruit, educate, and grow a community of game developers and mod tool developers.
- Gain a deep understanding and specialized knowledge to understand Devvit tooling, developer needs, industry insights, and market opportunity
- Help game developers achieve reach and growth by managing an editorialized featuring calendar for high-potential games.
- Iterate, innovate, and scale the operations playbook by recognizing new opportunities, suggesting bold ideas, and programs, and persuading internal teams to align on new plans
- Run reports, build dashboards, analyze data, set KPIs, and execute impactful community initiatives
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Community, Engineering, Marketing, Safety, and Client
Who you might be (Qualifications):
- 2-3 years of operations management, project management, community operations, or tech background
- A healthy blend of operations, growth, project management, and community management expertise
- Deep passion for gaming and Reddit.
- Data-driven and analytical mindset to assess process performance (excel modeling skills necessary, SQL knowledge helpful)
- Succinct and persuasive communicator: collaborate effectively across internal teams, moderators, developers, etc.
- Results-obsessed: bias towards execution, passion for organization
- Deep interest in developing and driving independent projects, framing issues, testing hypotheses, and iterating on process improvements
