Job Description

Learner Analytics Product Manager

Remote Outside IR35 3-6 Month Contract

We are seeking an experienced Learner Analytics Product Manager to support the development and enhancement of a learner analytics capability for a leading higher education organisation.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape how learner data is used to improve student outcomes, retention, engagement, and institutional decision-making. You will work closely with academic stakeholders, data teams, technology partners, and senior leadership to define and deliver a product roadmap that maximises the value of learner analytics across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the learner analytics product vision, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Engage with stakeholders across academic, student services, planning, and IT teams to gather requirements and prioritise initiatives.
  • Translate business needs into detailed product requirements and user stories.
  • Drive the development and adoption of learner analytics solutions and dashboards.
  • Ensure products deliver actionable insights that support student success, engagement, retention, and attainment.
  • Work closely with data engineers, BI developers, analysts, and technology partners to deliver product enhancements.
  • Champion user-centred design and continuous improvement practices.
  • Monitor product performance and user adoption, identifying opportunities for further optimisation.
  • Support governance, data quality, and compliance considerations relating to learner data.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, or similar role delivering data and analytics products.
  • Experience working within Higher Education, Further Education, EdTech, or a learner-focused environment.
  • Strong understanding of learner analytics, student data, retention analysis, engagement monitoring, or related areas.
  • Experience managing product roadmaps and engaging diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business users.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge of Student Records Systems and VLE platforms.
  • Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform, or similar analytics technologies.
  • Understanding of data governance and data quality principles.
  • Experience supporting digital transformation or data strategy initiatives within education.
