Job Description

We're working with an award-winning technology business developing innovative software solutions within a complex operational environment. Following recognition with an Innovation of the Year award, they're continuing to grow and are looking for a Product Owner to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with UK railway experience who is also interested in technology, software and data.

The Role

You'll work closely with customers, operational users and the internal development team to support and evolve the platform.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building strong relationships with customers and supporting product adoption.
  • Providing customer training and platform support.
  • Testing new functionality and supporting UAT.
  • Working with developers to improve and evolve the product.
  • Using your railway experience to identify product improvements and new opportunities.
  • Contributing to product priorities and the roadmap.
  • Analysing railway industry data and supporting better timetabling solutions.

About You

We're looking for someone who understands UK railway operations and enjoys working with technology and data.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience within the UK railway industry, such as a train operator, consultancy or related organisation.
  • Understanding of signalling, rolling stock, train crew and timetabling.
  • Experience using a train planning or train service control system such as ATTUne, Voyager Plan, TPS, Integrale, TrainPlan, TRENT, Sarma or Resonate (or a comparable system).
  • An interest in software, technology and data.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work comfortably with both customers and technical teams.

Technical Experience

You don't need to be a developer, but experience with any of the following would be valuable:

Product Ownership | Software Development | Data Analysis | Excel/Macros | Power BI | UAT | Business Requirements | SDLC | Agile/Scrum

If you're from a railway background and have an interest in technology, software, data or product, we'd love to hear from you.

This role can be remote, there will be some travel expected to client sites. Clean full driving licence is required.
