Job Description

HR Manager | Fishers Landing, NY, United States | On-site

We're hiring on behalf of a leading food distribution company, recognized for its extensive network and commitment to operational excellence. This organization is dedicated to fostering a strong safety culture and driving a positive employee experience across its markets. They are seeking a proactive HR Manager to support their operations and people initiatives.

The Role

  • Champion a genuine safety culture, promoting employee well-being through engagement and leadership accountability.
  • Advocate for a positive employee experience and high engagement, identifying and escalating risks, and driving retention.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute HR objectives, advising on policy interpretation and facilitating training.
  • Support communication and change management campaigns for strategic HR and business priorities.
  • Lead and support employee relations investigations, partnering with compliance and legal teams.
  • Oversee recruitment efforts, staffing, retention strategies, onboarding, PIPs, and IDPs.

What You'll Need

  • Minimum 6 years of HR experience, with at least 4 years in a professional (non-administrative) role.
  • Experience consulting with and advising management teams.
  • Strong foundation in core HR fundamentals and legislation (ADA, FMLA, EEOC, FLSA, Title VII).
  • Familiarity with MS Office, HRIS systems, and effective presentation skills.
  • Prior experience in employee relations and working in a collective bargaining environment is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; SHRM certification desirable.
