Network / System Engineer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a DevOps Engineer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

The engineer is responsible for configuring and updating new applications, upgrading existing infrastructure, and executing code deployments. This role involves administering and engineering highly available distributed systems, identifying opportunities for optimization, and collaborating with engineers, architects, and developers to meet project objectives in a complex environment.

Responsibilities:

• Configure and update new applications, upgrade existing infrastructure, and/or deploy code for currently utilized applications
• Administer and engineer highly available distributed systems
• Build and roll out high availability and disaster recovery for Linux / Windows infrastructure
• Identify opportunities to optimize current solutions and perform technical analysis
• Provide hands-on technical support to troubleshoot poorly performing systems in production and other test environments
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, developers, and other staff to meet project objectives
• Look for opportunities to automate manual efforts

Requirements:

• 6-8 years of relevant experience
• Strong experience in Windows IIS, RHEL, and Middleware (WebLogic, JBOSS, Tomcat, WebSphere)
• Knowledge of CI-CD and deployment tools like XLRelease, Ansible, Harness, etc
• Experience with application code deployments, environment management support, and release functions
• Experience in Windows and Linux environments with working knowledge of Linux commands
• Knowledge of DevOps toolsets such as Jenkins, Maven/Ant, JFrog Artifactory, and GitHub
• Experience in troubleshooting and analysis of application functional issues
• Knowledge of issue management request systems like Jira, Quality Center, and Remedy
• Knowledge of monitoring tools like AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Splunk, etc
• Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills
• Willing to work on a flexible shift schedule including second shift and participate in an on-call rotation

Desired skills:

• Understanding of process improvement to drive deployment efficiency and effectiveness
• Experience in CICD SDLC process, GUI application/server transfer, automation tools, and data analytics
• PowerShell and Unix Shell Scripting
• Knowledge of Bitbucket and XLR

Pay range: $63.68 - $71.68 per hour
