This is a Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager position with a company that manufactures metal parts and assemblies. People with appropriate experience who come from similar manufacturing companies are encouraged to apply.

This position is located in Northern Iowa. Relocation assistance is available.

You will be responsible for maintaining the company’s quality management system AND leading the company’s strategy for continuous improvement.

  • Oversee quality audits and corrective actions
  • Track critical metrics about first-pass yield and scrap/rework
  • Maintain the QMS to meet customer, regulatory, and ISO requirements
  • Manage suppliers, including incoming inspection
  • Lead a Quality/Continuous team, ensuring that corporate objectives are met
  • Identify cost reduction, waste reduction and quality improvement opportunities
  • Lead Kaizen events, implement Lean tools such as 5S, standard work, and Total Productive Maintenance.

 

 

  • Five to seven years’ experience in quality assurance, continuous improvement at a company involved in the manufacture of hard products that involve machining, shaping, or assembly.
  • At least two years in a management position involving quality and/or continuous improvement at a manufacturing facility.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Certifications such as CQE, Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt are preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical process control, ISO 9001, common quality assurance methodologies for industries that manufacture or use parts and assemblies.
