Location: 100% Remote

Contract: 12+ Months Contract

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Linux Virtualization Engineer responsible for the deployment, automation, and support of RHEL-based virtual machines on IBM LinuxONE infrastructure. The role focuses on KVM virtualization, Ansible automation, and infrastructure supporting MongoDB platforms. Candidates should have strong Linux engineering expertise with working knowledge of LinuxONE, LPARs, and HMC.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy and manage RHEL virtual machines on LinuxONE using KVM.
• Develop Ansible automation for VM provisioning, configuration, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Support and optimize infrastructure hosting MongoDB environments.
• Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, capacity planning, and system maintenance.
• Work with LinuxONE administrators on LPAR, HMC, storage, and networking requirements.
• Implement operational standards, security hardening, and automation best practices.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration.
• Strong experience with KVM virtualization.
• Advanced Ansible automation and scripting skills.
• Experience supporting IBM LinuxONE or IBM Z environments.
• Familiarity with LPARs, HMC, virtual networking, and storage concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and infrastructure operations experience.
• Knowledge of infrastructure supporting MongoDB or other enterprise database platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MongoDB infrastructure experience.
• Red Hat Satellite, OpenShift, or Kubernetes experience.
• Python or shell scripting experience.
• RHCE and/or Ansible Automation certifications.

Ideal Candidate: A senior Linux engineer with deep expertise in RHEL, KVM, and Ansible automation who can build and operate highly automated LinuxONE virtualization environments supporting mission-critical MongoDB workloads.
