CIVIL ENGINEER PROJECT MANAGER (LAND DEVELOPMENT)

Client: Regional multidisciplinary civil engineering consulting firm (Land Development / Site Design division)

Location: Doylestown, Pennsylvania (office-based, flexible work model)

Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Position Overview

Planning, design, management and delivery of private subdivision and land development projects. The candidate brings progressive civil engineering experience and strong design ability, and manages projects, clients, schedules, budgets and junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead civil engineering and land development projects from planning through final design and construction; manage schedules, budgets, technical deliverables and client expectations.

- Own project quality, technical accuracy and delivery; coordinate internal staff and external stakeholders.

- Provide design leadership: site layouts, horizontal and vertical roadway alignments, grading plans, stormwater management and BMP layouts, drawings, reports and specifications; review engineering sketches, calculations and plans.

- Perform site feasibility and due diligence; review zoning ordinances and municipal regulations; support permitting and approvals.

- Develop practical solutions for challenging projects, conceptualize design alternatives and flag design or permitting issues early.

- Maintain strong relationships with private-sector clients, and represent the firm with clients, attorneys, developers, municipalities and regulatory agencies.

- Lead and mentor Engineers, Designers and CADD Technicians.

Required

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and an active PE license.

- About 5-7+ years of progressive civil engineering experience.

- Experience designing private subdivision or land development projects, and servicing private clients and/or managing infrastructure projects.

- Strong site planning and civil design knowledge; experience managing project schedules and budgets.

- AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to manage multiple projects and represent the firm externally.

Strong Plus

- Pennsylvania PE license; experience giving public testimony before Land Use Boards.

- Experience managing private-sector land development projects and coordinating with developers, attorneys, municipalities and regulators.

- Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading multidisciplinary teams.

- Certifications: Certified Municipal Engineer (CME), Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), Professional Planner (PP).

- GIS, Hydroflow, stormwater modeling and drainage design tools.
