Engineering Technician | Bristol, United Kingdom | On-site

The Role

  • Comply with health and safety policies and regulations.
  • Resolve breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance (PMs), and contribute to project/improvement works to minimize production downtime.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to mitigate risks.
  • Immediately lock off or repair dangerous machinery and report issues.
  • Actively undertake PMs on offline machinery when time permits.
  • Ensure thorough completion of PM sheets and log all observations, jobs, and recommendations.
  • Efficiently gather information from production personnel regarding faults to speed up troubleshooting.
  • Maintain accurate and complete engineering logs and computer systems, detailing all relevant information including parts used and plant numbers.
  • Communicate professionally with external parties, reflecting the company's profile.

What You'll Need

  • HNC, City & Guilds, or time-served apprenticeship with relevant electrical engineering qualifications.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably within the food manufacturing environment, or any manufacturing environment.
  • Electrical bias or multi-skilled, with PLC experience being highly desirable.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is highly desirable.
  • A flexible approach with a positive, "can-do" attitude.
  • Experience with SAP is highly desirable.
