The Role
- Comply with health and safety policies and regulations.
- Resolve breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance (PMs), and contribute to project/improvement works to minimize production downtime.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to mitigate risks.
- Immediately lock off or repair dangerous machinery and report issues.
- Actively undertake PMs on offline machinery when time permits.
- Ensure thorough completion of PM sheets and log all observations, jobs, and recommendations.
- Efficiently gather information from production personnel regarding faults to speed up troubleshooting.
- Maintain accurate and complete engineering logs and computer systems, detailing all relevant information including parts used and plant numbers.
- Communicate professionally with external parties, reflecting the company's profile.
What You'll Need
- HNC, City & Guilds, or time-served apprenticeship with relevant electrical engineering qualifications.
- Experience in a similar role, preferably within the food manufacturing environment, or any manufacturing environment.
- Electrical bias or multi-skilled, with PLC experience being highly desirable.
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is highly desirable.
- A flexible approach with a positive, "can-do" attitude.
- Experience with SAP is highly desirable.
