The Role • Operate specialized heavy equipment (hostlers, cranes, top loaders, side loaders) for the safe and efficient movement of shipping containers. • Load and unload containers from railcars and trucks, ensuring accurate and timely transfers. • Drive hostlers to precisely position containers and chassis within the intermodal yard. • Stack, move, and organize containers according to yard plans and operational needs. • Conduct pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment to ensure safety and functionality. • Communicate effectively with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate tasks and manage workflow. What You'll Need • A valid driver's license is mandatory for this position. • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs and climbing ladders/stairs. • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and accommodate a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. • Basic communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team. • Open availability for shifts, including night operations.
