Job Description

Product Manager – Data Engineering (Databricks / Snowflake)

Location: Remote (Must reside and work within the United States) Employment Type: Contract / Contract-to-Hire Experience Required: 10+ Years

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of enterprise Data Engineering products and platforms. The ideal candidate combines strong Product Management expertise with a solid understanding of modern Data Engineering technologies and cloud-based analytics platforms.

This role will partner closely with Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Business, Analytics, and Executive stakeholders to define product vision, prioritize initiatives, and deliver scalable data solutions that support business growth and operational excellence.

Candidates with experience in the Financial Services or Banking industry are highly preferred.

 

Required Qualifications

· 10+ years of overall IT industry experience.

· 5+ years of Product Management experience delivering enterprise technology products.

· Strong experience working with Data Engineering teams and modern data platforms.

· Solid understanding of Data Engineering concepts including:

o ETL/ELT Pipelines

o Data Warehousing

o Data Lakes

o Lakehouse Architecture

o Data Modeling

o Data Governance

· Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

· Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.

· Experience defining product vision, roadmap, and product strategy.

· Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

· Experience writing product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritizing product backlogs.

· Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Architecture, QA, Data Governance, and Business teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience with Databricks (highly preferred).

· Experience with Snowflake.

· Understanding of Delta Lake, Spark, or modern analytics platforms.

· Experience with data cataloging and governance tools.

· Familiarity with BI and analytics platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.

· Experience with API-based data products and data integration.

· Prior experience within Financial Services, Banking, Wealth Management, or Insurance.

 

Key Responsibilities

· Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for enterprise Data Engineering initiatives.

· Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into product requirements.

· Prioritize features based on business value, customer impact, and technical feasibility.

· Manage and groom the product backlog.

· Develop detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.

· Partner with Data Engineers, Architects, QA, and Platform teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

· Drive sprint planning, release planning, and product demonstrations.

· Monitor product performance using KPIs and customer feedback to drive continuous improvements.

· Communicate roadmap progress and product updates to executive leadership and stakeholders.

· Ensure delivered solutions align with enterprise architecture, governance, security, and compliance standards.
