Job Description

Netzschutztechniker / Inbetriebnahmetechniker Umspannwerke m/w/d | Gummersbach, Germany | Hybrid

We are hiring on behalf of a leading European energy infrastructure service provider, deeply involved in building and modernizing substations for the medium, high, and extra-high voltage segments. This is an opportunity to contribute to the energy transition and shape a sustainable future.

The Role

  • Realize new construction and modernization projects for substations, up to 380kV, in Western Germany.
  • Commission electrical installations and ensure the smooth operation of green energy systems.
  • Analyze and resolve faults in protection and control technology, driving process improvements.
  • Program and parameterize high-tech protection and field devices from leading manufacturers.
  • Precisely commission digital protection and control technology using state-of-the-art testing equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively with project management, planning, and installation teams.

What You'll Need

  • Completed vocational training in electrical engineering.
  • Proven experience or strong aptitude in protection/control technology and substation commissioning.
  • Familiarity with communication standards like IEC 60870-5-101/103/104.
  • Proficiency with parameterization software (e.g., Siemens DIGSI, Schneider MICOM) and testing software (e.g., OMICROM TestUniverse) is a plus.
  • A strong team player with excellent communication and decision-making skills, fluent in German.
  • Possess a valid driver's license (Class B) and willingness to travel within Western Germany.
