Construction Specialist I (Contractor)

We are hiring a Remote Construction Specialist to support fiber and coax telecommunications construction projects within the Heartland footprint (Michigan, Indiana, and Kentucky). This position will remotely monitor construction activities, review project scopes and design plans, coordinate with Business Partners, and ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
Responsibilities

• Monitor Business Partner construction activities and ensure project tasks are completed accurately and on time.
• Review fiber and coax design prints, new jobs, task plans, and scopes of work to ensure projects are properly aligned.
• Coordinate construction resources, including materials, labor, and resource allocation.
• Provide technical support to procurement, design, construction, and other internal teams.
• Review project cost estimates and evaluate Business Partner change orders.
• Communicate with Business Partners and internal teams to address project issues and maintain project progress.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Experience in the cable, telecommunications, or utility construction industry.
• Ability to understand and read fiber and coax design prints.
• Knowledge of cable construction practices and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Strong understanding of construction project scope, task planning, materials, and labor requirements.
• Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a virtual environment while managing multiple projects.
• Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
• Access to a reliable high-speed internet connection.
• Must reside within the Heartland footprint: Michigan, Indiana, or Kentucky.

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting telecommunications construction projects.
• Experience with fiber and coax construction.
• Experience reviewing project estimates and change orders.
• Experience working with Business Partners, contractors, and construction/design teams
