Quick Overview
Job Description
PE Backed Technology Group | Blank Canvas to Add Value
Leamington Spa | Hybrid Working | Two Days in the Office
£50,000 + Benefits
We Do Group are working exclusively with a brilliant, PE backed technology business that is investing in its procurement function.
The business knows where the money goes and who it is being spent with. What it has never had is the procurement resource to properly challenge it, create competitive tension and turn that spend into a structured commercial plan.
That is where you come in.
The policies, procedures and strategy have been created. They now need someone who can turn those foundations into action.
You will take ownership of sourcing exercises, tenders, negotiations and renewals across Software, SaaS, Cloud, Hosting, IT and Professional Services.
Currently, too many contracts reach Procurement when the decision has effectively already been made.
Your role will be to build stronger relationships with budget owners, understand requirements earlier and create a clear pipeline of upcoming contracts and renewals.
There is a huge amount of value waiting to be unlocked.
That could mean renegotiating major agreements, consolidating suppliers, identifying duplication created through acquisitions or using the wider PE portfolio’s buying power to secure better commercial terms.
The opportunity goes far beyond saving money.
You will help Procurement become a genuine commercial partner to the business, improving supplier relationships, reducing risk and giving senior leaders greater visibility over how and where the company spends.
The Role:
• Manage sourcing projects across technology and professional services
• Run RFPs, tenders, renewals and supplier negotiations from start to finish
• Build category plans and a forward looking procurement pipeline
• Improve visibility across contracts, renewal dates and commercial commitments
• Negotiate pricing, licensing, contract terms, renewals and exit provisions
• Work closely with Legal, Finance, Technology, Information Security and senior budget owners
• Identify savings, cost avoidance and supplier rationalisation opportunities
• Introduce greater competitive tension across third party spend
• Monitor supplier performance, risk, compliance and financial stability
• Help deliver the company’s sustainable procurement strategy
• Engage suppliers around carbon reduction, ethical procurement and wider ESG commitments
What We Are Looking For:
You may already be working as a Procurement Specialist, Senior Buyer, Sourcing Specialist, Category Specialist or Procurement Manager.
Technology procurement experience would be brilliant, particularly across SaaS, Software, Cloud, Hosting or Professional Services, but it is not essential.
The hiring manager is open to strong procurement professionals from other categories who understand the fundamentals and can quickly build their product knowledge.
You will need to demonstrate:
• Strong end to end procurement experience
• Commercial negotiation and competitive sourcing experience
• The ability to run a tender or RFP independently
• Evidence of delivering savings, cost avoidance or improved supplier terms
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
• The confidence to challenge established ways of working
• The emotional intelligence to know when to push and when to listen
• A proactive, curious and hands on approach
You will work closely with a supportive Group Procurement and Sustainability Manager who has already created the strategy and secured investment in the function.
They now need someone who can get into the detail, build momentum and show the wider business what great procurement can achieve.
The role is advertised in Leeds, but the business is flexible on location because finding the right person matters more than attaching the role to one particular office.
You could also be based within a reasonable commute of Liverpool, Leamington Spa, Belfast, Edinburgh, Nottingham, Oxford or Brentwood. You will attend your local office two days per week.
If you are a commercially sharp procurement professional who wants more ownership, more influence and the opportunity to help build something properly, we would love to hear from you.
