Job Description

We are seeking an experienced IoT Solutions Architect in Greenville, SC to design, develop, and implement scalable, secure, and cloud-native Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Industrial IoT (IIoT), cloud platforms (AWS), edge computing, data analytics, and enterprise integration. The architect will work closely with business stakeholders, engineering teams, and customers to deliver end-to-end IoT solutions that enable digital transformation and Industry 4.0 initiatives.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced OT Developer with 10 to 15 years of hands-on experience to join our IOT team. As an OT Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining industrial IoT solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and architect scalable, secure, and cloud-native IoT/IIoT solutions spanning edge devices, industrial gateways, cloud platforms, analytics, and enterprise applications.
  • Design end-to-end IoT architectures from edge devices to cloud applications.
  • Define solution blueprints covering device connectivity, data ingestion, analytics, storage, visualization, and enterprise integration.
  • Develop scalable and highly available IoT platforms capable of supporting millions of connected devices.
  • Establish architecture standards, design principles, and governance.
  • Lead Industrial IoT implementations by integrating PLCs, SCADA, OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus, Kepware, Historians, and MES systems with cloud platforms such as AWS IoT Core and AWS IoT SiteWise.
  • Develop contextualized industrial data models by integrating OT, IT, and business data, creating asset hierarchies, semantic models, and metadata that enable operational intelligence and digital transformation.
  • Design and implement AWS IoT SiteWise solutions, including asset models, measurements, transforms, metrics, asset hierarchies, and real-time monitoring dashboards using Amazon Managed Grafana.
  • Enable real-time processing at the edge to reduce latency.
  • Architect enterprise Knowledge Graph solutions to model relationships between assets, processes, products, maintenance records, quality data, and operational events, enabling AI-driven insights and contextual search.
  • Design secure, event-driven architectures using cloud-native services, APIs, microservices, streaming technologies, and messaging protocols while ensuring scalability, high availability, and cybersecurity compliance.
  • Integrate IoT platforms with enterprise applications including ERP, MES, CMMS, Data Lakes, Digital Twins, and AI/ML platforms to enable end-to-end operational visibility and business intelligence.
  • Drive AI and advanced analytics initiatives by enabling predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, root cause analysis, process optimization, and GenAI solutions using contextualized industrial data.
  • Provide technical leadership and governance by defining architecture standards, conducting design reviews, mentoring engineering teams, and collaborating with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Lead solution delivery and innovation by evaluating emerging IoT technologies, establishing best practices, supporting pre-sales activities, developing proof-of-concepts (PoCs), and ensuring successful deployment of Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing initiatives.

Qualifications we seek in you!

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, and enterprise integration.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Experience presenting architecture to executive leadership.
  • Strong documentation and solution design capabilities.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience implementing AWS IoT Core, SiteWise, Greengrass in manufacturing or Industrial IoT environments.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial connectivity technologies including Kepware, OPC-UA, MQTT, Modbus, and Historian systems.

  • Strong understanding of industrial contextualization, ISA-95, ISA-88, and asset hierarchy modelling.
  • Experience with Digital Twin platforms and industrial asset modelling.
  • Experience integrating MES, ERP (SAP), SCADA, Historians, CMMS, and Data Lakes into enterprise IoT platforms.
  • Knowledge of GenAI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, and semantic search for industrial applications.
  • Experience with Amazon Managed Grafana, AWS IoT Greengrass, AWS IoT TwinMaker, and cloud-native analytics services.
  • Familiarity with industrial data standards such as OPC-UA, MQTT Sparkplug B, ISA-95, and Asset Administration Shell (AAS).
  • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty, or AWS Certified Data Engineer Associate are highly desirable.
