Job Description

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Application Solution Architect with a strong background in retail banking / financial services, enterprise application architecture, and business process / case management platforms.
The ideal candidate will be a true architecture professional who can translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, evaluate complex application ecosystems, define integration strategies, and guide development teams through implementation. This is primarily an architecture and solution design role, with limited hands-on coding.
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with business stakeholders, Product Owners, and technology teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Lead application and solution architecture across complex enterprise environments.
  • Design solutions involving workflow, case management, orchestration, APIs, integrations, and event-driven architectures.
  • Evaluate current-state systems and define practical future-state architecture and modernization roadmaps.
  • Assess impacts across applications, integrations, databases, and enterprise platforms.
  • Develop architecture diagrams, technical designs, integration patterns, and solution documentation.
  • Present architectural solutions, tradeoffs, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in architecture review boards, security reviews, governance processes, and design reviews.
  • Work closely with developers, testers, engineering leads, and delivery teams to ensure successful implementation of the architecture.
  • Provide architectural guidance throughout the solution lifecycle while supporting long-term modernization initiatives.
  • Develop prototypes or provide technical guidance when necessary, but this is not primarily a coding position.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of overall IT experience, with significant experience in solution/application architecture.
  • 5+ years of experience in Banking or Financial Services, preferably retail banking.
  • Experience as an Application Architect, Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, or Technical Architect.
  • Strong experience with Flowable or comparable BPM/workflow platforms such as Camunda, Activiti, or jBPM.
  • Strong understanding of BPMN, CMMN, workflow, orchestration, and case management concepts.
  • Experience designing enterprise APIs and application integrations.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture patterns and system-to-system interactions.
  • Experience working across cloud and on-premise environments, including legacy system integration.
  • Ability to work with Product Owners, business stakeholders, architects, developers, testers, and other technical teams.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

The ideal candidate is an architecture-first thinker who understands both technology and business processes. They should be comfortable working across multiple platforms and technologies rather than being tied to a single technology stack.
Candidates with strong Java architecture + BPM/workflow orchestration + enterprise integration experience are highly encouraged to apply.
This position is intended for an architect who spends the majority of their time on solution design, architecture, integration strategy, governance, and stakeholder alignment, rather than day-to-day software development.
