Title: Sr. SDET (Python)

Location: Omaha, NE ( Onsite - 5 days a week)

We are looking for a highly skilled EMS Testing Automation Analyst with a strong testing foundation and a passion for building scalable automation solutions. In this role, you will help drive the quality and reliability of Energy Management System (EMS) software releases by designing automated testing frameworks, validation workflows, and data-driven quality processes across platforms including Leader and Trip Optimizer. Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks for EMS applications, including Leader and Trip Optimizer.
• Build automated validation pipelines that support software release cycles and reduce manual testing effort.
• Develop Python-based scripts and tools to validate train handling behavior, EMS outputs, and overall system performance.
• Ensure repeatable, reliable, and high-quality testing processes aligned to release readiness and production standards.
• Analyze test results and system data to identify trends, root causes, defects, and opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support EMS platform enhancements through automation, monitoring, and continuous optimization.
• Create validation and reporting solutions that support end-to-end automation, from data ingestion through reporting and insights.
• Leverage advanced Excel capabilities, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling, to support analysis and reporting needs.
• Communicate technical findings, validation outcomes, and recommendations clearly to both technical and business audiences.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities that improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and strengthen data quality.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of hands-on experience developing Python-based solutions with a strong focus on automation, testing, and data analytics.
• Strong programming expertise in Python for automation development, testing frameworks, and data analysis.
• Proven experience designing and supporting automated testing frameworks and validation workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and drive actionable improvements.
• Expert-level Excel skills, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data modeling.
• Demonstrated ability to build scalable, repeatable solutions that improve quality and reduce defects.
• Experience delivering end-to-end automation solutions across validation, reporting, and process improvement.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex findings in a clear, concise manner.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• High attention to detail, strong ownership, and commitment to quality, reliability, and first-time-right delivery.
• Preferred: Experience building dashboards and analytics in Tableau or similar BI tools.
• Preferred: Prior experience with PTC systems and Energy Management Systems (EMS), including Leader and Trip Optimizer.
