Senior Java Developer

Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Senior Java Developer for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Regulatory clients in Rockville, MD or Tysons, VA.
Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions that meet business requirements
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers
• Ensure code quality, performance optimization, and adherence to best practices
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical strategy
• Support production systems and troubleshoot complex technical issues
• Defines technical solutions or operational processes to improve efficiency
• Strong experience with Java and Angular
• Demonstrates the firm's values
• Collaborates, both in-person and virtually

Required Skills :

• 10+ years of design develop, and maintenance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline with at least 8 years of related experience, or equivalent training and/or work experience
• System design experience
• Strong experience in developing Frontend application
• Strong experience with cloud technologies
• Experience in performance tuning and optimization
• Experience in DevOps and CI/CD technologies
• Experience in test automation and unit testing
• Experience in software security

• AWS
  • Core services: EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS, Fargate, Step Functions, API Gateway, SQS, SNS, CloudFront
  • CloudWatch and Splunk for monitoring and troubleshooting
  • IAM, security services, and VPC networking
• Programming & Development
• Java, Spring Boot, JPA
• Frontend applications: Angular
• RESTful API design and microservices architecture
• CI/CD pipelines (GitLab exposure preferred)
• Databases
  • SQL (PostgreSQL, Aurora)
