Job Description
Ascension Property Services, based in Palo Alto, CA, seeks an LV Structured Cabling Technician to install, terminate, and test low-voltage network cabling in commercial environments. You will pull cable, build and label patch panels, install racks and pathways, and ensure adherence to TIA/EIA standards and safety codes. The role includes troubleshooting connectivity issues, reading blueprints, updating documentation, and collaborating with IT and project teams. Responsibilities
- Install, route, and secure low-voltage cabling in commercial environments
- Terminate and test copper and fiber cabling to TIA/EIA standards
- Build, label, and maintain racks, patch panels, and cable management systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and network diagrams
- Troubleshoot and resolve cabling and connectivity issues
- Document cable runs, test results, and as-built configurations
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
- Collaborate with IT, facilities, and project teams on installations and upgrades
- Maintain tools, test equipment, and inventory for cabling projects
- Support cutovers, moves, adds, and changes with minimal downtime
