Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for large, cross-cutting initiatives across Schwab Bank Move Money platforms.
• Own solution design and architectural decisions for complex, multi-system workflows.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate roadmap initiatives into pragmatic technical approaches.
• Lead engineering execution, guide technical direction, and unblock delivery challenges.
• Champion thoughtful use of AI assisted development practices and drive engineering excellence.
• Support and evolve production systems, participating in complex issue triage and root cause analysis.

Requirements

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience designing, developing, and delivering large-scale distributed software systems.
• Deep hands-on expertise in Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Experience with cloud native architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.
• Strong experience in automated testing strategies and working with data stores.
• Experience with event-driven and messaging-based architectures using technologies like Kafka.
• Implementing authentication and authorization mechanisms using industry standards.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with move money platforms in regulated financial services environments.
• Exposure to common payment networks such as NACHA, FEDWIRE, SWIFT, RTP, or FEDNOW.
• Prior involvement in platform modernization or first-of-kind initiatives within banking or payment providers.
• Experience applying AI assisted development techniques beyond basic code generation.
