Senior MES Software Developer - Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Abbott Laboratories is seeking a Senior MES Developer to design, build, and optimize manufacturing execution system (MES) solutions for its biotechnology and pharmaceutical operations. In this role, you will lead MES configurations, integrations, and enhancements to support compliant, efficient, and data-driven manufacturing. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, and IT teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, ensuring alignment with GMP and global standards. You will drive validation, testing, and documentation, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to continuous improvement in a mission-driven, inclusive, and innovative environment focused on advancing global health.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and develop MES solutions for pharmaceutical manufacturing operations
• Integrate MES with ERP, LIMS, automation, and shop-floor systems
• Ensure systems comply with GMP, data integrity, and regulatory requirements
• Lead MES implementations, upgrades, and enhancements across sites
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and IT to gather and refine requirements
• Perform system validation, testing, and documentation per GAMP and Abbott standards
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve MES issues to minimize production downtime
• Contribute to standardization, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives
