The Role

• Operate heavy specialized equipment to load and unload shipping containers from railcars and trucks.
• Drive hostlers to position containers and chassis within the intermodal yard.
• Utilize equipment such as top loaders, side loaders, and cranes to stack, move, and organize containers efficiently.
• Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to ensure safety and functionality.
• Collaborate with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate logistical movements and daily tasks.
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to established protocols and procedures.

What You'll Need

• A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment in a logistics or industrial setting is preferred.
• A strong commitment to safety and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs and climbing ladders/stairs.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays as determined by union seniority.
• Basic communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
