The Role • Operate specialized heavy equipment (hostlers, cranes, top loaders, side loaders) to move shipping containers. • Load and unload containers from railcars and trucks with precision and safety. • Drive hostlers to efficiently position containers and chassis within the intermodal yard. • Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to ensure safety standards are met. • Collaborate with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate logistical tasks effectively. • Maintain a safe and organized work environment by adhering to established procedures. What You'll Need • A valid driver's license is mandatory for this position. • Previous experience operating heavy machinery in a logistics or industrial setting is preferred. • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions. • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays per union seniority. • Basic communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
