About the company

You'll be joining a market-leading business within the aerospace supply chain that has experienced significant growth in recent years.

The company expanded by 23% in 2023, has invested in a second site and continues to build on its long-standing commitment to UK manufacturing.

With a strong order book and continued investment, the business is targeting further growth beyond its existing £78m annual turnover.

The site itself is a major selling point. It's clean, modern and well organised, with significant investment made into the facilities and equipment. Employee engagement is also strong, with more than 90% of employees reporting that they are proud to work for the business and believe in its goals.

About the Maintenance Engineer role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for keeping a range of PLC-controlled manufacturing machinery running efficiently and reliably.

You'll work across both planned and reactive maintenance, alongside machine upgrades, installations and continuous improvement projects.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) using the Idhammar CMMS
  • Responding quickly and effectively to breakdowns
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding
  • Diagnosing faults on PLC-controlled machinery
  • Supporting OEM and engineering projects
  • Completing root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Machine installation and equipment upgrade projects
  • Working proactively to improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime

About you

We're looking for a Maintenance Engineer with a multi-skilled engineering background.

You should have:

  • Multi-skilled maintenance experience with either a mechanical or electrical bias
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, production or process environment
  • A recognised Level 3 engineering qualification
  • Ideally, an apprenticeship-trained engineering background
  • Experience fault finding on electrical and mechanical systems
  • A proactive approach to maintenance and problem solving
  • A genuine interest in continuous improvement

PLC experience would be advantageous, but full training will be provided on the site's systems and machinery.

The opportunity

This isn't simply a role where you'll be reacting to breakdowns all day.

You'll join a close-knit engineering team led by a manager who places genuine importance on both personal and technical development.

You'll receive full training on the site's systems and equipment, along with the tools and support required to become successful in the role.

The combination of a 3-on/3-off shift pattern, £48,000–£53,000 salary, 1.5x overtime and strong benefits package makes this an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking for their next move.
