Data Center Operations Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Data Center Operations Technician in New York, NY.

Summary

We're seeking a hands-on Data Center Operations Technician to support critical infrastructure, hardware deployments, and end-user technology in a fast-paced 24/7 environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working with hardware, supporting enterprise systems, and contributing to the daily operations of a mission-critical data center.

What You'll Do

• Install, rack, configure, and maintain servers, network devices, and related hardware
• Troubleshoot connectivity, hardware, and system issues to ensure operational uptime
• Monitor systems and respond to alerts, incidents, and service requests
• Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and peripheral devices
• Perform hardware upgrades, imaging, deployments, and equipment moves
• Track inventory, asset assignments, and documentation within ticketing systems
• Support data center operations, maintenance activities, and operational procedures
• Collaborate with technical teams to resolve infrastructure and end-user support issues

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of IT support, infrastructure, data center, or systems operations experience
• Experience installing and supporting servers, network equipment, and enterprise hardware
• Experience working with ticketing systems and maintaining accurate documentation
• Experience with enterprise monitoring tools, mainframe environments, or server administration
• Data center operations experience
• Knowledge of ServiceNow or similar IT service management platforms
• Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office products
• Familiarity with asset management and inventory control processes
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work onsite in a 24/7 operational environment with flexible scheduling, including weekends

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
