Scrum Master - Data Platform & Data Ingestion

Location: Phoenix, AZ Salary: $70.00 USD Hourly - $80.00 USD Hourly Description:
Position Summary
The Scrum Master will support Agile delivery for our clients' Enterprise Data Platform with a focus on Bronze and Silver layer data ingestion, data onboarding, and data engineering initiatives. This role partners with Data Engineers, Architects, Product Owners, Data Stewards, and business stakeholders to drive delivery, remove impediments, and ensure successful execution of data platform priorities. The role emphasizes practical Scrum execution and delivery management rather than SAFe leadership. Based on current data platform initiatives involving Bronze/Silver ingestion, Jira-based intake, and Databricks data onboarding
Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Manage and prioritize work with Product Owners and Data Platform leadership.
• Coordinate Bronze and Silver layer data ingestion requests and delivery activities.
• Track ingestion backlog, defects, enhancements, and production support items in Jira.
• Remove blockers and drive issue resolution to maintain team velocity.
• Manage dependencies across Data Engineering, Data Governance, Platform, Infrastructure, Security, and Reporting teams.
• Provide status updates, risk management, and delivery reporting to leadership.
• Foster strong collaboration between technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Promote Agile best practices and continuous improvement across the team.
• Support release planning and production deployments.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of Scrum Master experience supporting technology, analytics, or data engineering teams.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification preferred.
• Experience managing Agile delivery in a Data Warehouse, Data Lake, or Data Platform environment.
• Strong understanding of data ingestion, ETL/ELT pipelines, and analytics ecosystems.
• Expertise with Jira, Confluence, and Agile metrics.
• Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
