Job Description
As a System Administrator, you will be instrumental in providing support to our Development, Operations and Security teams. You will join a team of 20+ who work together to provide full-lifecycle support to a software application providing audio ingest, storage, query, playback, analysis, and transcription capabilities. The application is used by national and tactical analysts on small systems (laptops) and large systems (multi-node clusters). Given the flexibility of the application, we have several development and deployment platforms which we are required to stand up, maintain and tear down.
We often perform hardware refreshes requiring knowledge of our system infrastructure, requirements and scalability needs. At times you will be expected to work alongside hardware vendors in generating hardware specifications and obtain quotes. As a multi SSP owner our team is responsible for all vulnerability patching associated with STE/STN initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime
- Manage physical hardware, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting for development network environments
- Perform hands-on hardware troubleshooting, including component replacement, equipment installation, cable management, and system validation
- Configure and verify server connectivity to ensure systems are reachable and properly integrated into the network environment
- Develop and implement automation scripts using Ansible to streamline processes and improve efficiency
- Configure, manage, and support virtualization platforms such as VMWare, Xen, or Nutanix
- Diagnose and resolve network-related issues, ensuring seamless connectivity and performance
- Work with the ISSO/ISSE team to configure devices to meet STE/STN compliance requirements
- Administer patches to maintain STE/STN compliance requirements
- Assist with Windows patching when necessary to maintain a secure and compliant infrastructure
Required Skills
- Cloud Administrator Skill Level 1 (CA1): 5 years with a Bachelor's in Computer Science (or related field) or 9 years without the degree
- Strong Linux System Administration experience
- Hands-on experience to include rack configuration, cabling, hardware troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Hands-on experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMWare, Xen, Nutanix)
- Network troubleshooting skills
- Knowledge of STE/STN and vulnerability patching
- This position requires the ability to lift, move, and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds as part of routine system maintenance, server installations, and hardware troubleshooting activities
- Candidates should be comfortable performing physical infrastructure tasks, including rack installation, cable management, equipment replacement, and hands-on system support
- Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required

This range is a good faith estimate that reflects various experience levels.
