As an IT Project Manager for the University-Experience team, you will play a crucial role in supporting current environment projects and workloads, typically handling 2-3 concurrent projects. Your responsibilities will focus on supporting operational and compliance-related projects, freeing up resources for new initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Management:
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan outlining scope, schedule, budget, and resource requirements.
    • Establish a project team, define roles and responsibilities, and create a communication plan.
    • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and proactively address deviations from the plan.
    • Track project budget in ServiceNow or similar systems.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Work closely with various stakeholders, understanding their needs and managing their expectations.
    • Cultivate strong relationships, communicate project updates, and manage expectations.
  • Budget Management:
    • Define and manage the project budget, tracking costs throughout the implementation.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities and develop contingency plans.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify potential risks associated with the migration process.
    • Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure timely issue resolution.
    • Implement risk assessment, response, and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Resource Management:
    • Oversee project resources, including team members, vendors, and contractors.
    • Ensure the team is appropriately staffed, trained, and motivated to achieve project objectives.
  • Change Management:
    • Facilitate change across the organization by promoting awareness and adoption of new systems.
    • Address resistance to change and ensure a smooth transition for end-users.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Prepare regular status reports, presentations, and other relevant documentation.
    • Communicate project schedules, delays, and work changes to management.

Requirements:

  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, risk assessment, and resource allocation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • PMP or other relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Experience managing ERP implementation or migration projects is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Oracle and Workday systems is a plus.
  • Background working in Higher Education environments is a plus.
