Role: Sr. Scrum Master (Healthcare)
Location: Washington, DC/Reston, VA (Remote)
Job Type: 3 Months Contract (Possible Extension)
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Scrum Master to lead multiple cross-functional Agile teams and drive Agile maturity, team performance, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have strong healthcare industry experience and hands-on expertise with Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Jira, and Lean-Agile practices.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate Daily Stand-ups, Sprint/Iteration Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives, PI Planning, and Scrum of Scrums.
  • Drive team performance, predictability, quality, velocity, and delivery outcomes.
  • Remove impediments and coordinate with Product Owners, Product Management, Architecture, and leadership.
  • Promote Lean-Agile mindset, servant leadership, and continuous improvement.
  • Track Agile metrics, risks, dependencies, and program progress.
  • Support cross-team collaboration, conflict resolution, and backlog management.
 
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 7–8+ years of experience as a Scrum Master.
  • 4+ years of healthcare experience — Claims, Members, Providers, Clinical, or Care Management.
  • Strong hands-on Jira experience.
  • Experience with Scrum, Agile, and Kanban methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of SAFe / Scaled Agile concepts.
  • Experience leading multiple Agile teams and facilitating Agile ceremonies.
  • Strong stakeholder management, dependency management, and impediment removal skills.
  • Experience with Agile metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement.
 
Nice to Have
  • Jira Align experience.
  • SAFe Scrum Master / RTE experience.
  • CSP or other Scrum/Agile certifications.
