Horizon VDI Architect

Primary Responsibilities

• Define and own the end-to-end Horizon solution architecture, ensuring alignment with business, security, and operational requirements.

• Design and oversee Horizon Cloud Connector integration with Omnissa Workspaces Core and related platform services.

• Establish and govern Active Directory organizational unit (OU) structures, Group Policy Object (GPO) design, profile management strategy, and image governance standards.

• Provide technical leadership throughout discovery, design, build, pilot, and production deployment phases.

• Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex architecture, integration, and platform issues.

• Develop and own migration, cutover, rollback, and transition strategies to minimize business disruption.

• Lead pilot validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), and go/no-go decision reviews.

• Ensure solution scalability, security, performance, and operational readiness for steady-state support.

Secondary Responsibilities

• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, application, and endpoint management teams to ensure seamless solution integration.

• Create and maintain architecture documentation, standards, design decisions, and operational runbooks.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to Horizon administrators, engineers, and project teams.

• Support knowledge transfer activities and transition to operations teams.

• Participate in project governance meetings and provide technical status updates to stakeholders.

• Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and optimization.

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience designing and implementing enterprise VDI and Digital Workspace solutions.

• Deep expertise in Omnissa Horizon, Horizon Cloud, and Omnissa Workspaces Core.

• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, GPO management, organizational structure design, and identity services.

• Experience with profile management technologies, user environment management, and image lifecycle governance.

• Knowledge of AWS infrastructure, virtualization, networking, security, and cloud architecture principles.

• Proven experience leading enterprise migrations, platform transformations, and production cutovers.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage executive and technical audiences
