This role focuses on designing and delivering tailored professional learning experiences for strategic district and school partners, with a primary focus in STEM and flexibility to support literacy as needed. The PD Strategist reports to the Associate Director/Director of Professional Development.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Partner with fellow PD Strategists to develop, adapt, and refine customized training materials and professional learning assets

  • Co-design professional learning experiences with district leaders that reflect local context, student needs, and implementation conditions

  • Determine when existing resources should be adapted vs. when new custom content is needed

  • Collaborate with Product and PD teams to stay current on content offerings and feature releases

  • Escalate challenges to leadership proactively; maintain open communication and collaborative problem-solving

Strategy

  • Support pre-sales discussions (written proposals, PD plans) and serve as the primary PD point of contact for assigned accounts post-sale

  • Lead the scoping and project management of custom PD engagements, including defining outcomes, deliverables, budgets, timelines, and contributor coordination from discovery through delivery.

  • Develop multi-year, district-wide PD strategies and implementation plans

  • Balance customer-specific customization with scalable, high-quality solutions aligned to Amplify's instructional vision and professional learning models

  • Escalate high-risk situations to management appropriately

Leadership

  • Apply sound instructional and design judgment across diverse audiences, delivery models, and implementation contexts

  • Coach and prepare PLSs for session delivery, ensuring high-quality, context-aware customer experiences

  • Build strong relationships with customers and internal senior leadership

  • Maintain deep product and suite knowledge through continuous learning

Implementation & Delivery

  • Design tailored session materials, coaching tools, implementation resources, and follow-up supports

  • Conduct district-wide program reviews and advise district leaders on pedagogy, implementation, and change management

  • Analyze participant feedback, implementation data, and input from Professional Learning Specialists (PLSs) to assess training impact and inform recommendations and next steps.

  • Deliver onsite professional development, coaching, and data analysis support

  • Iterate on custom PD solutions based on partner feedback, implementation data, and evidence of educator learning

  • Travel required: 20% on average, with travel of up to 40% throughout the year

Department & Team Support

  • Support department-wide priorities and initiatives as assigned

  • Additional duties as designated by regional leadership

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of K–8 classroom teaching experience, preferably in STEM, with willingness to support literacy PD as needed

  • Demonstrated expertise in instructional design, facilitation, and implementation, with experience designing and delivering professional learning that responds to stakeholder needs and supports educator adoption of new practices.

  • Experience managing large-scale education and custom design projects from discovery through delivery, including planning, budgeting, timeline management, and iteration

  • Strong project and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent engagements and competing priorities.

  • Proficiency with technology integration in professional learning and classroom settings

  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and other productivity tools

  • Ability to travel regionally and nationally; must meet Amplify's travel and vaccination policy requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as an instructional leader, curriculum developer, or PD leader across a district or school network
